This is a very easy, very delicious meal. You just dump everything in the crock pot and let it cook on low all day.
3 pound roast. I used deer meat, but you can easily substitute beef by using chuck roast or rump roast.
1 T. olive oil if using a lean meat
2 T. Au Jus base or beef bouillon
6 whole garlic cloves
1 large sweet onion sliced
1/2 to 1 teaspoon rosemary
1 bay leaf(remember to remove before serving)
1 teaspoon to 1 T. worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 cups water
salt(little bit)& pepper(lots)
Put all ingredients in the crock pot and let it cook for 8 hours on low.
Shred the meat and crush the garlic into the meat and au jus sauce.
cut hard rolls in half. Butter and add a slice of provolone cheese.
Put in toaster oven or oven on broil for a few minutes or until toasted and cheese is bubbly.
Add shredded meat and I like to add some of the cooked onions onto the bread.
Ladle some of the au jus gravy out of the crock pot to use for dipping.
Enjoy your delicious hot sandwich.
