Welcome to my channel! I am currently focused on reviewing wines from Paso Robles in California. Today I tasted the NEW Top 2018 Joule Rosé which was surprisingly big and complex.

From the winemaker:
“Last year in April we bottled our first rosé for TOP which we named Joule. A straight to press rosé of mourvèdre with a kiss of new French oak. This is not a rosé that drinks like a red wine in terms of alcohol or weight. This is a rosé of intensity, structure, focus and finesse yet still carries a luscious mouthfeel with ample texture. Closer in soul to Provence than to a saignee made domestic wine. Our rosé will never be treated as the black sheep of our family and therefore decided to give it the respect it deserves by bottle aging it for a year before release. The creation of this rosé was never an afterthought. Every step taken to craft this wine was carefully executed with intention. For this same reason we bottled it in dark glass opposed to the traditional clear glass. The hope is to present wines that will improve with time, regardless of the style, variety, or blend. My guess is another two to four years will serve it well, although it’s tasting fantastic now after a quick decant.”
