French Onion Soup
6 cups (or more or less if you like) Carmelized onions – I make mine in the crockpot – see previous video
2 cartons or 8 cups beef broth (in the video I only added 6 cups but I came back later and decided it needed more)
1 Tbls beef bouillon (if you want a more beefy flavor)
1 tsp garlic powder
1 to 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 to 1/2 red or white wine – your kitchen your choice
Since you just carmelized all your onions in the crockpot just leave them in there with all the juices and add all the rest of the ingredients. Mix to combine and cook on low for about 2 hours. Taste to see if you want the flavor adjusted. Ladle into broiler safe serving dishes and top with a slice of favorite toasted bread or I use croutons since they are seasoned well with a good crunch! Top the bread with Swiss or Gruyere cheese or both! Place on a baking tray and place under the broiler for about 2 minutes but watch it because each oven is different and we don’t want it to burn!
Enjoy!
