Coca-Cola started with a very different Plan A.

Before Coca-Cola became a soft drink, John Pemberton sold Pemberton’s French Wine Coca — a coca-infused wine.

Then Atlanta introduced prohibition in 1886.

Alcohol was out.

So Pemberton changed the formula, removed the wine, kept the coca and kola nut ingredients, and relaunched the drink as Coca-Cola.

Plan A disappeared.

Plan B became one of the most recognized brands in the world.

That’s the lesson.

A setback doesn’t always mean the idea is dead.

Sometimes it forces you to build a better version.

If your Plan A just fell apart, your story might still be getting started.
