There are few places quite like Château Léoube.
Set right on the Mediterranean coast in Provence, Léoube is one of only a handful of estates in the region growing and making its wines beside the sea. Its organically farmed, dry-farmed vineyards sit within 360 hectares of native forest, with an incredible amount of care given to the land and the wider environment.
Our Director of Wine, Liz Wheadon, recently visited Château Léoube and came away incredibly impressed. Even through the extraordinary heat in France this year, the vineyards were remarkably healthy.
While there, Liz explored the new wetland areas being developed to encourage biodiversity and saw some of the changes being made to how water moves through the property, helping to increase groundwater storage.
And then, of course, there were the wines — beautifully fresh, balanced and unmistakably Provençal.
