If this is what you need to do to make leeks taste good I think it's fine to just pass on the level. You're not even eating level anymore; just a vehicle for fat, salt, etc
This looks delicious, but honestly, it’s so easy to make leeks taste good.
People always use the green tops as scraps, but I only discard what looks chewed on. Below that, I use the whites and light greens for roasting, grilling, or steaming, but I stew the tops collard green-style and it’s like a whole separate side dish
Why would you spend over 27 hours of time and effort to make that that's why they charge so much at high-end restaurants not realizing that everything costs in time so if you don't appreciate the cost are the effort don't do it and you're not going to waste all that time at home when you could simply chop up the stuff put it in a crock pot and be done with it and eat don't be so detailed about life holy crap😅
The only problem here is that you've made the vegetable into about 60% fat by volume with all the oil and mayo. If you add enough fat you can make just about anything taste good, and this surely is a tasty leak cooking method that clearly takes skill, but at this point I'd just eat meat and it'd be healthier, or eat leeks without this amount of fats and endure a worse flavor for the sake of not removing the entire point of suffering to eat a vegetable: variety of nutrients at low calorie cost.
The ONLY video of this entire series that makes me not want to eat. Not just leeks! Which I like… everything. Ever again. Char the outside all you like… these are long, limp, soggy members of the onion family with the addition of (long, limp, soggy) onion-family extracted oil…

Leak leak leak gonurr
Think I might try this, but substitute the oil for half a gallon of melted butter instead.
no cartouche, no butter? gasp.
You know me so well I do actually hate leeks.
There are just so many other things to eat from the Plant World
Leeks³
Even in the kitchen we seperate the whites and the coloured.
So basically, take something healthy and drown it in fat.
Wouldn't it be better if it was confited in butter? Eating that much vegetable oil seems kinda gross to me tbh 😅
SHALLOTS😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
At that point I think you're just eating oil with a little vegetable….

O sure, keep all the dirt inside the leeks. No thanks!

Miku: 一体全体、私の大好きなネギに何をしているんだ?
The crispy shallots look like smashed bones of a deceased granny after crematation.
Then top with mayo? Too much oil
I think if you're eating green vegetables, you need to retain their healthy qualities. Otherwise just give me chips.
Needs bacon.
only a chef can take a vegetable and add 3000 calories to it
This is what I order when my doctor says I need more veggies in my diet.
talk about making food difficult….😂😂😢 typically french.
Leek falls under the category of vegetables you eat for your health, not for taste and never just leeks. They taste like dirt.
Something’s not right.
There’s no cartouche. The universe is unbalanced! The end is near!
Would you like a bit of leeks with your oil?
Leek and Tattie soup is a better use for them
Imma go take a leek.
Oh yeah I hate mayo and shallot. Wanna burn your restaurant for incorporating these

This actually seems pretty gross and bad. I like vegetables but this really doesn't seem good at all.
