Bon Appétit spends a day on the line with executive chef Emily Yuen of Yingtao, New York City’s only Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant. Yingtao is on a mission to challenge perceptions of Chinese food, introducing diners to traditional ingredients and flavors through a modern fine-dining lens. never been this early
I recently went to Yingtao! What an amazing experience.
never been this early ..
I can't stand these fine dining places.
Such a great episode!!
Love Emily!
I love restaurants so much and I always will haha
"A little more palatable and visually appealing" but why is that the goal if you're trying to highlight real chinese cooking? 😕
I love the shifted narrative towards Chinese fine dining!
Beautiful dishes. Love to see the other side of Chinese cuisine ❤
The pastry chef was so happy for her dessert to be accepted, so cute, made me hungry too!
3:16 “Less dietary restrictions” is SO customer unfriendly 😮😖 really girl? Not everyone has the luxury to be able to eat every ingredient! Some people have serious allergies and food intolerances 😵🤨 hearing her say that I’m instantly going “I’m not even considering booking a reservation” 🙄🤯 the food looks delicious and beautiful but that particular comment is an instant and forever turn off for me!!
Nice!
respectfully, omg the owner is a BADDIE 🙌🙌🙌
Cordyceps mushroom reminds me of something…
the story-telling with the food is top tier.
Wearing Van Cleef making dumplins. Love that.
Much of the food shown here I grew up eating because I had a wonderful Asian Mom. Glad to see the world is catching up.
AMAZING fusion of traditional and modern techniques. True mastery and elegance, deserving of their stars. Can't wait to try.
So what’s the pastry chef’s insta 😅 I’m in ❤ 💍
One of my favorite episodes you’ve made yet
