This cheesy French onion beef noodle skillet is an easy one-pan dinner packed with savory flavor and plenty of gooey mozzarella. I accidentally stirred all the cheese into the noodles, so I added another 1½–2 cups of mozzarella on top—and it turned out extra cheesy and delicious! Save this recipe for your next comfort-food craving.

Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 packet beefy onion soup mix
4 cups beef broth
8 oz egg noodles
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
½ cup sour cream
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp butter
1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese, for mixing into the skillet
½ cup shredded provolone cheese, for mixing into the skillet
1½–2 cups additional shredded mozzarella cheese, for topping
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
Optional Flavor Boosts:
8 oz mushrooms, sliced and cooked with the onion
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp dried thyme

How to Make It:
1. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef with the onion until the beef is cooked through. Drain any excess grease.
2. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
3. Add the beefy onion soup mix, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, cream of mushroom soup, and butter. Stir until smooth.
4. Stir in the uncooked egg noodles. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the noodles are tender. Add a splash of beef broth if they need more time.
5. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the sour cream, 1½ cups mozzarella, and ½ cup provolone until creamy and evenly combined.
6. Top with an additional 1½–2 cups mozzarella. Cover for 2–3 minutes, until melted. For a golden, bubbly top, broil for 2–3 minutes if the skillet is oven-safe.
7. Garnish with fresh parsley, if desired, and serve hot.
