🇫🇷 The French TET Misadventure | Episode 3
After a few incredible days on the trails, it was time to move on from Gîte des Prairies du Val and head south towards warmer weather, faster trails, and the next stage of our French TET adventure.
The riding was fantastic. Flowing gravel tracks, stunning scenery, and the sort of trails that make you forget how many miles you’ve already covered. We even lucked out with accommodation that had a swimming pool waiting for us at the end of a long day in the saddle.
As confidence grew, so did the pace.
Unfortunately, the adventure took an unexpected turn when Al suffered a high-speed crash on the trail, bringing his trip to an abrupt end. Thankfully, he walked away without serious injury, but the same couldn’t be said for his bike.
With emotions running high and repairs needed, we took the following day to regroup, reflect, and make the best of a difficult situation. Sometimes adventure riding isn’t about the trails you conquer, but how you deal with the setbacks along the way.
A recovery day of sunshine, swimming, beers, wine, good company, and a well-earned cigar helped put things back into perspective before the journey continued.
