My favourite Australian rose, made in Geelong from free run pinot juice fermented and matured in old French oak. Sometimes I want a rose to be fun and flirty, and sometimes I want it a little more serious; this is very much the latter.
This is a wine to chill before opening, but let it ease up towards room temp before drinking. Almost rose gold in the glass; I get red berries and peach tea, with a little orange peel and cinnamon. Bright acid and a hint of dusty tannins.
It was a lovely contrast with mapo tofu, holding the mild Australian winter at bay.
