Took a chance on this based on past experience with the now closed Culler Wines, plus some very positive CT notes.
This wine smells so much like a northern rhone. Plenty of fruit left after 20 years and showing some meaty savory character. This is in a perfect spot for me since it has a nice blend of primary fruit and tertiary earthiness. Medium full bodied with plenty of acidity and a long, lingering finish. No stewed or cooked fruit here. It has energy.
Too bad the Culler closed down. Very talented wine making.
