Right now the room just has white walls, white carpet, white ceiling with reddish-brown wood accents on the windows, closet and baseboards. I thought I'd settled on Behr's Creamy Mushroom since it's pretty neutral in the summer and warm in the winter (it snows here) but I feel like it probably goes better with white accents rather than wood and I don't intend of replacing any of the wood accents. The mattress/bed, desk, and blinds are all getting changed; only the dresser and (maybe) the bookshelf are the main furniture that's staying. I'm probably leaving the carpet in unless I find the money/motivation to replace it, probably with laminate.
I just have a low understanding of how to pick or match colors especially with the wood I have and I'm looking for something that's calm and neutral in the warm months but warm in the winter. So like I looked at some blues for example and while they're nice in the summer I worry they'd be too cold in the winter. I also want something that can get darker at night, which from my testing doesn't need to be much darker than creamy mushroom. That seems to get reasonably dim (well, better than having stark white walls) while still being pleasantly bright during the day. I know I'm probably asking a lot I'd just like some direction before I commit to anything. I'm probably fine with Creamy Mushroom but I kinda wanna make sure I've explored all my options.
Thanks for any insight! Provided pictures of the room during afternoon lighting (north facing room) and during the night, plus the mushroom card vs the current wall.
