Not for the faint of heart! Anthony Tortul's La Sorga project produces some pretty out there wines, some are definitely not for me but when the macerated wines are on song they're a joyous thing to drink.

Dry-grown Grenache Blanc with a touch of Marsanne too, left mostly as whole bunches and crushed gently before being closed up to macerate for 45 days then pressed. No adds at all and looking in pristine shape. More and more I feel a few years in bottle is the sweet spot for these more extreme 0/0 wines to fully resolve themselves.

Pretty high toned and edgy on the nose, makrut lime and lemongrass with a balsamic lift. So tea like to drink, super fine in structure, some generosity and weight for sure but still extremely vibrant. Dried stonefruit, passion fruit curd and a wild almost genmaicha nutty/savoury edge. Feels a tiny bit hollow but what's going on at all 4 corners is so exciting it doesn't really matter all too much. These are for sure out there wines, the hype gets a little wild no doubt but damn they're a fun thing to drink when you're in the right mood.

45 days of maceration and zero additions, that color makes total sense now
