So, my wonderful housekeeper grabbed a bottle of “random” wine from my private cellar to share with a visitor (who does not even like wine that much) while I was away. This, of all the wines, is the one she chose. I had JUST received this as a gift last week and was planning to cellar it for another 10-15. Oh well, it’s only wine.

That’s entirely unacceptable behavior, regardless of the wine.
I mean I’ll say it. Fire her ass, she took your belongings for herself without asking. Pretty clear cut. I’m sure you can find someone else that’s suitable to clean your house she can’t be the only one.

When you say visitor I presume you mean a guest of your family not a guest of hers? In any case it’s extremely poor nobody who works for me would dare open a bottle of wine without speaking to me.
