I have a sliding glass door that opens up right at a corner… so how do hang curtains? What kind of rod can I use? Clearly I have the wrong kind since it’s bent all out of shape and I’m NGL I initially went for the cheap option. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Most people I know have blinds or curtains at a slider but not both. What is the purpose of the curtains?

I would get fabric ones (blackout would be my choice) because the hanging ones with a clip at the top are a total PITA so I would ditch the blinds altogether. you would either have to tie them tight to use the door, or if you aren’t concerned about the aesthetic put something on the perpendicular wall to hang the curtain on… I am not good with aesthetics but am good for ideas that make life easier.

I got rid of those ridiculous blinds. I just took the whole contraption off, hung up a pretty curtain rod and used sun blocking curtains. It looks so much better.

A ceiling track system for curtains is probably what you’re needing. Look at IKEA or lots of other places have these systems. They can also go into corners.

double curtain rods aren’t very expensive. you can use sheer on one rod and heavier curtain on the other for temperature control and privacy at night.

you could unclip each slat and store them if you are renting. it could still be just as nice to keep them completely to one side year round for easier access. they aren’t needed if you have another privacy option.
