French President Emmanuel Macron said France is ready to rapidly deploy military assets, including warships, fighter jets and the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle, to help secure the Strait of Hormuz following a tentative U.S.-Iran agreement. Speaking ahead of the G7 summit, Macron said France and Britain are prepared to support maritime security operations if an international framework is agreed. He also rejected U.S. President Donald Trump’s threat to impose 100% tariffs on French wine over Europe’s digital tax on American technology companies, insisting that French and European laws are not for Washington to decide.
