yeah that cork is basically done for – you can see where wine has been seeping through and all that dark staining around edges. For 1976 bottle thats not surprising though, especially if storage wasnt perfect over the years
might still be drinkable like you said but id be ready for some funky flavors when you open it. German dessert wines from that era can handle age better than most but this one looks like its been through some stuff

Just looks like past seepage. Scrap it off and open. It’s likely still good at that age and if that’s all that seeped out. Are you prepared for this old of a German white lol they can be an acquired taste
