Very light in color. Almost a brick red. A bit cloudy as well.

On initial opening, the nose showed a lot of saddle leather and smoked meat notes. There were hints of fruit hiding in the background but it definitely needed some air to tease it out. After a couple hours the initial funk blew off and what was left was some bright crisp raspberry and strawberry fruity notes. There was also a distinct raspberry leaf note as well. Very fresh aromas.

The palate is fairly light with bright with some lovely acidity and more crunchy fresh red fruit flavors. The tannins are on the medium light side. The finish isn't super long but that isn't so much of a disappointment with this wine.

I have always been a fan of Whitcraft's Pinot Noirs. This one is no different to me. At some point I should pick up a bottle of their Syrah to give it a whirl.
