This corner of the family room is dark, especially in daytime when other areas are benefitting from more natural light. The recessed lighting and current floor lamp don't quite cut it.
What type of lamp should I consider in this space? I don't want the lighting to be harsh – warm is good….just more of it.

Your sofa end could fit a little console w/ a table lamp.
It would jut a little into the hall but it can be a statement piece, give you some charging and drink placement positions too
