⚔️ In the early 15th century, Europe’s most powerful state – the Kingdom of France – suffered a complete internal collapse. The madness of King Charles the Sixth, the ruthless civil war between the Armagnacs and the Burgundians, and the bloody rebellions that engulfed Paris left the realm easy prey for the conqueror from across the Channel. Henry the Fifth of England, one of the most talented rulers of medieval Europe, now prepared to press his claim to the French crown through war. Over the next seven years, Henry would plunge northern France into relentless warfare whose scale and intensity surpassed anything seen in the Hundred Years’ War for decades. In this grand documentary, we will present a modern and comprehensive account of Henry the Fifth’s conquest of France.

    Some post-release notes:

    1) I designed this series to cover both the widely known parts of Henry V’s story, such as Shrewsbury and Agincourt, and the lesser-known ones – particularly the Armagnac-Burgundian Civil War and Henry’s post-Agincourt campaigns. Still, as a creator, I am constrained by the documentary format and the video’s duration. Some episodes, such as Thomas Clarence’s campaign in France in 1412 or Sigismund of Luxembourg’s diplomatic tour in 1416, were planned but never made it into the final video. If you would like to learn more about this fascinating period, the bibliography is always available in the video description.

    2) At the time of writing the script, I fully subscribed to Anne Curry’s interpretation of the Battle of Agincourt, which is why the army sizes in the video reflect the proportions she proposed.

  2. Slowly becoming my favourite history channel, so criminally underrated! Thank you honestly you are a fucking legend
