I continue to be a major proponent of half bottles. They allow you to enjoy a glass or two without opening an entire bottle.
The caveat is they do age faster, in theory, than full bottles, so with aged half bottles you run a slight risk of premature aging.
That was not the case with this bottle.
Opened to enjoy the sunset on a warm day in San Francisco, although the wind started to pick up.
This bottle was in great shape. PnP, no decanting.
Drank the half bottle with my wife over an hour from Josephinenhütte glasses, which provides this real air.
This has matured nicely.
Dark plum, dark cherry, plum skins, sour blueberry, maybe some cranberry.
Lots of dried herbs and some rosemary.
Slight leather and tobacco as well.
This is in a really good place right now and can likely continue on for a while, especially if in a full bottle format.
Glad I have another half bottle remaining!
