When doing a complete kitchen reno a few years ago we added on a pantry but kept the walls etc open in order to finish other Reno’s on the house. It finally came time to work on the pantry itself, and be able to actually use it! It was completed as a birthday gift for me and I could not be happier. 🥰
My husband did all the work himself, including the framing, drywall, wallpaper, and electrical. He is thankfully very talented! It was very fun to design and I’m especially happy with the storage space for the small appliances that were cluttering up some of the counter space/shelving in our kitchen.
We used IKEA items for the base cabinets, small appliance area and the onion/potato/etc wooden bins and pine for the other shelves and the countertop. He did end up adding extra bracing to the IKEA cabinetry to ensure it was extra sturdy, just in case.
We ended up using a gel stain to get the pine close in colour to part of the wallpaper and I was very happy with the end result.
It’s not a big pantry, but it stores so much and was definitely worth it! 😁
