This is my first Huet Le Mont demi-sec Voulray and I know it’s supposed to be a little sweet but how do you tell if a Demi-sec wines like this is not flawed? It tastes like bruised apples and getting a lot of the notes I get from an over oxidized chard. The color looks good with a nice straw like color. Just not sure since it’s still overly sweet to me. Heard the acidity supposed balance it out but just not getting that

I’ve had Le Mont back to 1952 and other Huet back to 1919.
There’s a reasonable chance I’ve had as much old Huet as anyone else on the sub.
Chenin can do all sorts of weird things, but those flavors are not normal on a six year old wine, and the acidity on a Le Mont demi should rip hard.
2020 was a warm year, and 13.5% is hot for the demi, but even there it would still be more acid than most white wines.
Almost sounds premoxed but you said the color was pale? A premoxed wine is normally amber in color
