Late one night in Naples, 1889, a royal craving changed the world. Queen Margherita was tired of French gourmet and wanted the food of the people. Local pizzaiolo Raffaele Esposito was summoned, and he crafted a masterpiece inspired by the Italian flag: red tomatoes, white mozzarella, and green basil. One bite, and the Queen was hooked.
