Hadn’t been to Promenade Brasserie for a while. My friend had never been, so we decided to pay a visit. Looks like they’ve renovated the interior—layout is still the same, but the space feels refreshed.
We ordered:
1. Cheese duo (whipped honey goat cheese, white cheddar, fig jam, pickled onions, whiskey-soaked cherries, basil pistachio pesto, apple, herb oil, sourdough)
I only like certain cheeses, so based on the description, I didn’t think I’d enjoy this at all. But my friend wanted to try it, so I went along—and I’m glad I did. I didn’t touch the goat cheese or onions, but the balance of the other components was outstanding. The sourdough had that perfect chewy texture—I couldn’t stop eating it.
2. Mixed greens salad (poppyseed dressing, pomegranate, quinoa, goat cheese, edamame, berries, pickled shallots, pumpkin seeds)
Super refreshing and full of flavour. The dressing was well-balanced and didn’t overpower anything.
3. Fried chicken
I think we changed some of the ingredients—either we requested it or the restaurant offered an alternative, I honestly don’t remember. The listed version is mint chutney, orange honey, sesame coleslaw, but ours came with caviar. Fried chicken and caviar is actually an amazing combo—great balance and texture. A pleasant surprise.
