  1. Really weird. Your video does not come up on my subscribers feed. I refreshed several times but no video. I had to go hunting for it.

  2. Every Sunday I always looks forward to your postings. Following your journey of making the Chateau its best but also enjoying the creative juices both you and Philipp display and put to use. I also like the tour of Julie's Manor House and appreciate the collaborations amongst YouTubers restoring these historical treasures.
On another note, your kitchen ceiling and making it comply with fire regulations. I would check with your architect and see if adding the required BA13 Placoflam gypsum and if two layers of fire-specific boards (e.g., 2x BA13 Placoflam).

with specific staggered joints so that fire cannot seep through a single seam.

Longer screws that reach the structural frame, not just the first layer of board.
If this was feasible it would avoid tearing out the existing ceiling. I just hate the thought of tearing out all the hard work that went into that beautiful kitchen.
Thank you for sharing all your great adventures.

  3. Well that was an education. I was thinking (respectfully) that it’s not about a glamorous and privileged lifestyle, as it once was, so much as being captives of a museum. Julie and Luke seem to enjoy the challenge and really celebrate their successes. More power to them, fuelled by sandwiches…

  4. You have no idea how much I enjoyed this episode! I have the privilege of going to Mapperton in September of this year to attend the Textile and Tapestries retreat. This will be the 2nd retreat of this nature that they will host. A very interesting idea and something (creative workshop/retreat) that I could see happening at your Chateau down the road.

  5. So nice to watch this collaboration videos, I follow both so was a delight!! 🥰🥰🥰

  6. “Keeping the stories alive” , as the earl said, is a wonderful way to describe the work you all are doing! Thanks for this inspiring episode. 😊

  7. Great tour — but the AI "recreation" of the great-grandmother is creepy beyond words. I wonder what the actual great-grandmother would think of it?

  8. I watch both Channels Julie has a Channel called Julie in Italy i love watching it as she goes out hunting for Treasure . But also watch there main Channel and i remember when they drained the big pool that she swims in . Thank u for sharing this really loved it . There Garden is just so beautiful . 😍🥰

  9. My husband and I subscribed to both channels, How to Renovate a Chateau and Mapperton Live, and have loved each of them. Philipp and Anna, it would be beneficial to you to ask Luke and Julie about the heating system Mapperton uses of burning wood chips. I remember seeing Mapperton Live video(s) about their heating system which sounded a lot like what Philipp talked about for their own property. We wish both couples total and absolute success and continued happiness!

  10. Aww I love both of these channels and have been following both for some time! Can’t believe they are doing a collab… Amazing!! ❤❤❤

  11. You could sell garden passes and people who buy passes (seasonal? daily?) are allowed to assist in gardening or not by following signage on that days chores. Then you are selling a product (garden visiit). You could raise and sell roses. Have a produce stand.

  12. I've been watching both channels since the beginning, and it's so nice to see the two come together in support of one another! Loved seeing Mapperton and the cottage they restored from a visitor's perspective!

  13. Wow, you were almost welcomed to your little cottage by the Hounds of the Baskervilles – so spooky🐾 👻 Luke and Julie are some of my fav YouTube Chateau couples -so funny and brave to jump into new adventures with their feet planted firmly on the ground … most of the time 😂

  14. A german Italian who’s french and a brit living in france visiting an american countess and a breadless Sandwich in Britain…
Yeah, this one would be hard to explain to an outsider.
Glad these niche, vague interests of mine crossover sometimes.
    Thanks for taking us

  15. My ancestor, Mary Chilton, was around 18 in 1625, and she was reportedly the first woman from the Mayflower to step onto America at Plymouth Rock in 1620. So even though American-European history in America is not as old as Britain’s, I have a some pride in knowing my ancestors were here.

  16. • Actually that rule that the guy mentioned that for-profit businesses are not allowed to have volunteers in France [if I heard that correctly] sort of makes sense. I can see how that could be viewed as these for-profit organizations / business exploiting the free labour of the volunteers.
    • Will you guys be visiting Château Poséidon in France, which is run by Tom and Damien? They have a YouTube channel as well.

  17. Echoing others- this was fun! I too am a long time follower of Julie in England and Italy! So fun that a couple of my favs cross-pollinated! Have you ever checked out Gemma Wheeler Architecture? About a year ago she worked with a Canadian client on an old stable. Kept thinking about it when you were going over ideas for the Long House. I think you’d find all kinds of inspiration and ideas. Super creative design work on little, very old places for real or just for the design challenge of working out potentials and possibilities!

  18. Oh this was wonderful to see. As a follower of both channels for years now, it was like watching much loved families unite!
