I was given a bottle of this for my birthday this year. I have never tried older wine before. Bottle seems to be in very good condition and the fill level seems good. What would you all recommend in terms of decanting? I have had it sitting upright for the past 2 days for the sediment to settle. Looking for any insight. Thanks!

I personally do not decant older bottles like this. I feel there’s just too much of a chance of putting the wine past the point of no return. I like to open the bottle and let that sit opened for about 30 mins and then I’ll pour and let that develop over the next hour. Hasn’t failed me yet !

Might be too late now, since it sounds like you are planning on opening today, but I would buy a Durand-style wine opener for opening the old bottles. The knock offs are like $20 on ebay.
