Poured this Chardonnay tonight from Creekstone winery in Helen, GA. I went wine tasting there a couple months ago and it’s a small winery on top of a hill overlooking some gorgeous Georgia views. Of all the wines I tasted, this was the one I took home. It’s very light, dry, and has notes of green apple and pear, and a little oak. It’s actually very refreshing. I’m cooking some Greek kebabs tonight and thought it would go well with it!

The designation “American” indicates the grapes aren’t from Georgia (which is understandable — vinifera is going to have a rough time there). Do you know where they get their grapes and how they transport them? If they can make a quality wine from grapes trucked in (or flash frozen and shipped by rail) from a long distance, good on them.
