2022 Guilbert Gillet Corton Le Rognet
A bit of a unicorn, poured en magnum at the Paulee Gala. This was absolutely tremendous, with all the lip smacking deliciousness of the SLB cuvées, with additional depth, complexity, and power taking it to a whole different level. Ripe black plums and earth on the nose, with more layers of beautiful pure plush sappy fruit on the palate along with crisp acidity. The texture was incredibly luxurious and elegant, like a well-appointed Gulfstream, and the finish was as long as a transatlantic flight. Phenomenal wine, just stunning.
