So I picked up this 59p tin of chicken soup from Aldi about a week ago, and I’ve not really thought about what I wanted to do with it up until now. So I decided to challenge myself and see if I can turn this humble can of chicken flavoured gloop, into something that is both tasty and cheap.

The frozen sofrito, what is the purpose of blanching it for a minute? Unless it's to help it freeze better because my experience in freezing celery has never turned out well. Too much water content, when it freezes the ice stabs it to death from the inside.
Love this Adam 😊 starting from the one ingredient is a brilliant idea 🤗
Please don't use AI.
I have a memory of a chicken soup cookery book ,where all the recipes were made with chicken soup, it may have been a givaway in a supermarket, id love to be able to say more, but its one of thse vaugue memories I cant quite get 100% clear, anyway this looks like a decent use of the soup, thanks for the ideas here !
Clever old Adam, having a bag of Sofrito in his freezer, its the basis of so many meals. I am going to follow his lead and make and freeze some today, thanks Adam. Ps so pleased you slipped a few " wadges " in the recipe 😂😂
I always thought the test of a good cook was what they could make from some miscellaneous bits and bobs. Remember that program where a celebrity would bring 5 miscellaneous things to be made into several dishes ?
3% chicken is criminal and is pretty much false advertising. Dread to think what it's filled with.
that soup in better than heinz
Hi Adam, I just done similar with a packet of mushroom soup…..added extra mushroom, onion, carrot, potato with some chicken left over from a rotisserie bird, milk….herbs and garlic…..we often have soup and a sandwich….sandwich was not needed ….had that later for tea😂.,…..good food 😊
Used to give rind of cheese to my dogs, one played with it and the other was like"are you mad" nom!nom!nom!
Bit disappointed with this one as needed another 7 min timer, will have to revisit the previous video. 😂
Excellently done!!!!!
Thank you for this.
I often use 'pre-packaged' foods, whether it be frozen or canned or boxed, as a starting base to add this and that to it.
Great job!
Super looking meal from basic standard ingredients, it's nice to see how far you can make things go when you don't have much in the cupboards etc ….. thank you Adam .. 🌿
Another added to the Food Playlist. Thanks Adam. Just to add, frozen chopped garlic is also a great thing to have in the freezer!!
Appreciate all your vids m8 I do stuff like this all the time leftover something what’s in the cupboard dinner done 😂
Excellent recipe Adam and extremely inventive 🎉. I am lucky to have a little white dry sherry from Xmas. Perfect for this dish I reckon 😂🎉
I think I've used the term "food alchemy" before, and this is a very good example of it. How to turn something cheap into something tasty but still with nutritional value. I'd also be interested to see what you conjure with cheaper proteins such as basa and frozen squid. Fortunately Trump hasn't managed to affect the cost of defrosting things lol
Now Thats kitchen magic!!!❤❤❤
Looks yummy, love orzo😋
Maybe cheap but highly recommended on YouTube. One of the best apparently.
This soup çame out top in a recent Chicken soup comparison test, beating Heinz and many others.
Just done this with chicken, orzo, garlic, onion, green beans ,broccoli ,tin of that soup , my wife said best shes ever tasted
A good easy cheep recipe for you. 1 can of stewing steak add Worstershire sauce and some cooked carrots and onions. Layer at the bottom of a pyrex dish. Then add a layer of cooked frozen or soaked and boiled mushy peas. Then top with Idaho mash with extra butter. After you have added all them layer's cook at 180 for 40 mins.
Heinz only has 3% chicken for about four times the price of Aldi and Lidl.
Good ideas!
3% chicken! Is it even legal to call it chicken soup?
Lots of extra ingredients there Adam, I would have omitted the tin of soup!
thank you lm looking forward to more recipes
Looks like its been eaten once and brought back up
Looks yummy x
I saw a review of tinned chicken soup recently and this particular brand came out top, beating all the so called big names for a fraction of the price ❤
