Practise listening to British English conversation and enjoy some complaining, ranting and funny anecdotes in this episode based on the concept of a popular BBC TV chat show. My guest is Charlie Baxter from The British English Podcast. Charlie has chosen 3 things which he wants to be locked inside the mythical “Room 101” 🚪 an imaginary place where all the things you hate in the world are stored forever. What would Charlie like to remove from the world to be kept inside this room? And what is the shocking info about a certain popular British English YouTuber 👩🏫 that could break the internet? 🤔 @TheBritishEnglishPodcast

Hi Luke. Great episode as always. This one was quite something. Thanks for that — I really needed a good laugh. The Room 101 was a brilliant idea, and the banter with Baxter was hilarious.
And I really hope that Lucy from English with Lucy will get in on the banter and leave a witty reply in your comment section — and that you’ll pin it.
PS: The website is my usual place to leave a comment as you know, but I’ll copy-paste this one on YouTube too.
Hello from Brazil
Hi Luke Good to see and gear from you again ☺️👍🏻
Thank you Luke ❤
I love your podcast and I love listening to you talking 🎉
Great episode ❤❤❤
Nice breeze shooting, guys! Thanks)❤
The greatest podcast ever
Can't help laughing. It's hillarious. 30:45
Hey Luke, I'm watching your videos from Bangladesh. I always enjoy watching your podcast because your voice is so clear. I've tried watching some British podcasts, but I find their accents quite difficult to understand. I'm really glad to watch your videos.
Could you please mention my country on your podcast?
Hello Luke! Hello Charlie! This was an absolutely lovely 101 show ❤❤❤
Thank you ❤❤❤
It's so funny to hear Charlie's first story about using the toilet when the cleaning started. I had an experience with the public toilet on the street in Paris when I was traveling there. I finished my business, but I just could not figure out how to flush it. After a while, I started to worry that someone might be waiting outside. Eventually, I gave up and stepped outside, hoping no one would go in right away so I could disappear first :-))
As soon as I stepped out, the door closed and locked (I heard the click), and I heard the cleaning start. Then I realized that you basically don't need to do anything — just leave. When the washing is done, the door unlocks and the next person can go in.
I was so curious that I waited until the cleaning was finished and opened the door to look inside (luckily, no one was waiting). It really did look like the entire room had been washed. So I could imagine what it would feel like to be inside during the whole cleaning process!🤣🤣
Now that I know how it works – as soon as a person walks out, the door should be locked right away. Do not hold the door for the next person. No need to. As soon as the cleaning is done, the door will be unlocked. Well, that is to say the whole system working properly. What if something goes wrong, one of the functions does not work properly, then…:-))))
Hi, Luke and Charlie. Thank you for this episode, it's been curious. I should say I definitely stand for Charlie in the point of good quality coffee. I couldn't agree more every way. And as a keen coffee drinker I can say his piece of advice as to the improvement of the coffee-deplorable situation at home is very worthwhile 😊.
😂 thanks for hosting Room 101 Luke. Despite perhaps being a tad too transparent, it was very therapeutic! 🙏
Great show and idea – but Room 101 hasn't been on TV for about 8 years.
My favourite podcasters are in one video.
Absolute crossover 🤌
😅. Charlie please
Hi, Luke. Thank you and Charlie for allowing me to spend such an enjoyable and useful talk. It was very interesting!😅 (My mother would rather have Planet 101 to banish certain sorts of undesirable beings 😅). Have a wonderful week. 🎉
Great episode I have done it listening 👂 and again tomorrow will listen 🎧 thanks luke
It's a bit unroomy in here, and since my petition to be transferred to Pandora’s Box was denied, I'd like to escape from Room 101, if only to have a word with whoever nominated me.
Knowing your podcast, made a huge step in my English.
Hey guys, this conversation was absolutly hilarious – I was laughing out loud the whole time and ejoyed it so much. Especially the first Story Charly told about his ridiculous experience with that self-cleaning puplic toilet. It was really brave of him to share such an akward moment on your Youtube episode, although I'm pretty shure everyone listening could tell a weird toilet story too…I definitly do. Actually, I've got a puplic-toilet-related thing I'd love to be banished to Room 101: toilet lids. I once had a truly akward situation because of one – way too long to write it down here. So let me just say thanks to you and Charly for this fantastic and outrageously funny episode. Cheers, Ilona!
Important new vocabulary within first 10 minutes… dispenser and cubicle! 😁
You are right. Instant coffee is awful. I made my coffee like our grandmother's. 😊
I amused myself .
Thank you . 😅
Love it! Very hilarious 😆
I enjoyed your conversation very much😂 thank you Luke!!😊
I agree with you it was a really good episode.
Hi Luke, It's a very funny episode, while listening to both of you,I was laughing and my friend asked me what was going on? . Great episode thanks ❤
