Tokyo Food Tour | Best Restaurants in Tokyo, Michelin Dining, Ramen & Sushi
In this Tokyo travel vlog, we explore some of the best restaurants in Tokyo, including Florilège (2 Michelin Stars), Ramen Break Beats, Sushi Azabu, Ginza Sand, and Tokyo’s hidden specialty coffee shops. If you’re planning a Tokyo food tour or Japan travel adventure, these are incredible places you won’t want to miss.
Join us for the final episode of our Japan Travel Series in Tokyo as we explore some of the best food, coffee, and restaurants in Japan’s incredible capital city.
Tokyo is one of the greatest food cities in the world, holding more Michelin-starred restaurants than any other city, and on this adventure we experienced everything from luxury Michelin dining to legendary ramen shops and hidden specialty coffee bars.
Our day started with a unique coffee tasting experience at KURO MAME Tokyo, a high-end specialty coffee shop in Kamiyacho. Unlike traditional cafés, KURO MAME offers a “no-menu” concept, where skilled baristas curate a custom drink for each guest after a short conversation. The café is the Tokyo outpost of MAME Specialty Coffee, founded in Switzerland and known worldwide for its dedication to exceptional beans and meticulous brewing methods.
Next, we visited the extraordinary Florilège, one of Tokyo’s most celebrated restaurants and holder of two Michelin stars. Chef Hiroyasu Kawate is known for pushing the boundaries of modern Japanese cuisine by blending French techniques with seasonal Japanese ingredients. The restaurant’s open kitchen and creative presentation make this a dining experience you truly have to see to believe.
Still hungry for more Tokyo food adventures, we headed to Ramen Break Beats in Meguro, a restaurant recognized with a Michelin Bib Gourmand, which highlights restaurants offering exceptional food at reasonable prices. Break Beats has become famous among ramen lovers for its intensely flavorful broths, handmade noodles, and inventive toppings.
While exploring the city, we stumbled upon another incredible coffee stop — Onibus Coffee, a beloved Tokyo coffee roaster known for its relaxed atmosphere, beautiful minimalist design, and carefully sourced beans from around the world.
Our Tokyo exploration continued in Ginza, one of Japan’s most famous luxury shopping districts. Ginza has been a center of culture, commerce, and entertainment since the late 1800s, and today it blends historic architecture with modern boutiques, department stores, and some of Tokyo’s most exciting food experiences. While there, we had to try Ginza Sand, a shop famous for its gourmet Japanese sandwiches.
The next day, we enjoyed an incredible lunch at Sushi Azabu, a Tokyo restaurant with roots in New York that brings traditional Edomae-style sushi techniques back to Japan. Using the highest quality seafood and precise craftsmanship, Sushi Azabu delivers an unforgettable sushi experience.
Later we explored the city’s shopping districts before dinner at Takumian, known for its refined Japanese cuisine and carefully prepared seasonal dishes.
Our night ended in Shinjuku, one of Tokyo’s most vibrant neighborhoods filled with neon lights, nightlife, restaurants, and endless shopping. Before calling it a night, we made one final food stop at Ore-ryu Shio Ramen, a spot known for its flavorful shio (salt-based) ramen broth, which highlights delicate seafood flavors and lighter seasoning compared to traditional tonkotsu ramen.
Tokyo is a city where every corner offers something incredible, and this trip reminded us why Japan continues to be one of our favorite travel destinations in the world.
Thank you for joining us on this journey through Tokyo’s food culture — from Michelin-star restaurants to hidden ramen gems and specialty coffee shops.
And this may be the end of this trip… but the next adventure is just getting started.
Thanks for traveling with us.
