  1. Not much editing, the stream was 80% story so there wasn't much to cut.
Me editing this stream -> 🍿🤏🙂(metaphorical)

    Stream spoilers ahead:

When Gallica said that best friend line my mind went straight to "we're the prince and the guy in the mirror was the prince's best friend" but I was so wrong.

  2. I don't know fully why, but the prince reveal doesn't bother me that much compared to the other stuff this game pulled out before. It was underdeveloped for sure, but at the same time it was obvious the MC was closely related to the prince in some way. I also have to say that regardless of the thing that happened the eldan sanctuary scene was very bad because of how much exposition they force onto you.

  3. i was really excited for the protagonist to have voiced lines and yet he somehow ended up having less personality than persona MCs…
at least the blue hair and heterochromia are cute- oh god damnit

  4. Whats with jrpgs and doing hair recolors that look way worse than the original?

Surprise, it also happens in 3 houses

  5. I can't make it to streams on time is there anyone that can let Joe know that a great place to grind Aexp is the Disgraced Ruins, use thief and kill two mimics at the bottom, they drop Jewelled Root which is a 3000 Aexp Item.

  6. Props to Mouse and chat for keeping the 95% cliff a secret until this stream, this kind of storytelling from the community was quite the whiplash compared to what was on screen.

  7. I'll be honest i really like this twist but it is kinda weird and cliche. I just think it's funny he guessed it immediately because he couldn't put in a last name… In a world where many people don't have last names… 🤔

  8. imo one of the worst parts of this twist is it takes away from every character saying "you're an elda you must of suffered prejudice your whole life", well um about that actually

could have been someone rise from the lowest perceived rungs of society earning the trust of people but now we gotta deal with magic birthrights and stuff ugh

nobility shouldn't be a reason to vote for Pancakes, it should be everything else in spite of that

  9. We were brainwashed, but for the right reasons

I am curious about what kind of message this game is trying to convey when it comes to it's politics. Its like "Nah, screw democracy and merit, the only ones capable of making a difference are those chosen by the big metal hand in the sky".
Since it has been shown that the disembodied voice has agency and stakes on this story, it completely undermines any sort of agency the protagonists have. Since now this entire story can be resumed to a grudge match between the king and what I assume is the prince's mother, nothing else really mattered (Louis never had a chance).
If this was another story, it would've been kind of interesting, but I sincerely doubt this is what the writers intended, because it kind of undermines all the commentary about racism and stuff lol.
Curious to see how this ends.

  10. joes reactions have pretty much mirrored my own throughout my own playthrough. i really dont know how anyone thought joe would like this games story. atlus trying to make a middle ground between smt in persona's best attributes lead to succeeding in neither

  11. It's crazy how expedition 33 did the same twist as this game with maelle but it just blows this game out of the water with how well it did it

  12. Somehow "Chosen one royal blood prince" is entirely predictable but also cringe to have it both ways with "scrappy underdog nobody" same with the "popular support" arc but also "bloodline duel to the death" monarchy. Contradictory escapism conveniences

  13. One of the things that's been absolutely cracking me up about this game is the fact that they use the same "mmfff" grunt sfx that Pancakes does while pooping during all his inner monologue bits as well. It makes it seem like he has to keep making an effort to keep from pooping himself during important scenes.

  14. I didn't even know you could fail the plot twist dialogue. This really is a "best of Atlus" game, even implementing how easy you could get a different ending by one dialogue option. Ts just too funny

  15. I’m not caught up on the metaphor streams whose the party member he hates like yosuke and Makoto

  16. sigh I can only assume his grievance is because the narrator (the eldan queen) lied to us (the player) is the only reason why it pisses him off so much. Because it just makes everything seem meaningless in hindsight? "Shotput Ball Theory" strikes again? It sucks that he's at this point where he just says it's awful and no longer cares and just expects that it's obvious and doesn't want to argue because chat will just make him even more furious. But like…fuck, man, I don't understand how it's just inherently awful beyond the point of needing to explain. Is it because it reeks of writer prophecy bullshit don't ask questions? Is it because she lied and we had no way of knowing otherwise because the game showed us one thing when another was reality? Is it because that scene could've been literally anything with the justification that Gallica's memories were lies and the MC doesn't have a past? Or is it just because, with the way these games are written, giving the player the agency to ask all of the questions would just ruin the whole thing therefore it's just shit?

Joe just starting "I'm sorry but this is fucking terrible…" is just the spark that ignites the kind if backlash he knows people will come to defend. An endless circle of "Just because you like it doesn't mean that it's good" into "Just because you say it's awful doesn't make it so" blah blah blah, back and forth, nothing ventured and nothing gained. A waste of time and energy…

Does it even matter that I like it and he doesn't? No, of course not, but it's the arrogant dismisiveness of the whole thing that just compels me to explain why it resonated with me when it so clearly drives Joe up a wall…i hesitate to call it disrespectful but that's what it feels like when it's dismissed so callously… *sigh* Hope Joe doesn't hate the ending too.
