Here’s an honest Blackburn food review at MyLahore. A huge local fan favourite known for curries, butter chicken, lamb handi, samosas, chapati and rice. We went in excited but something felt off and we had to be honest.
MyLahore is one of the most talked about places to eat in Blackburn, so this review was never going to be easy. We ordered the classic dishes locals recommend and shared our genuine reactions on taste, smell, portions and overall experience.

Hope this review doesn’t offend anyone, unfortunately we reported exactly as we found!
Their Bradford flagship was on another level soooo many years ago, so much so, it inspired the whole of bradford tried to emulate and copycat their business style but most failed, Nobody could offer Quality and Consistency like they could topped with great customers service. Sadly they have gone downhill accross the board
The Manchester branch is good but they also have a new restaurant called My Peshawar which is getting raving reviews
Personally I wouldn't have scored it as I'd have walked at the first hint of any nasty niffs , if the restaurant smelt that bad due to lack of hygiene how bad was the kitchen.
Lamb should be melt in the mouth meat so reckon I'd have made the right choice.
If you were eating the curry traditionally you wouldn't have been using your left hand…just saying 🤣
Great honest detailed reviews lads. A massive red card with chewy cooked lamb on the bone curry. It’s nice see reviewers being reviewers and providing constructive feedback on the reviews 👍

Blimey, was planning to go to this place last year and forgot all about it, having had the refresh of memory i actually feel like having forgotten was the best option 😂, no lamb should be chewy…..
Like most things, some places look bad but the food is great…swings and roundabouts maybe 😂
53 quid wasn't bad for all ye got in fairness, so I'll stick with my original rating. Now obviously that rating is purely by sight alone, ye tasted the food. I'm just going by what I see. As for mentioning the smell or any other bad things ye see. I would mention to the staff off camera. Then say in the video that ye did bring it to the staffs attention and see if they act upon it.
Did I see on your FB page that Sunday's video is going to be a challenge video? Or did I get that wrong?
Another great review lads, food did look first class but that smell would have had me straight out the door🚪 what's puzzling is a 5* hygiene rating, possibly didn't have the awful smell at time of inspection?

Was there about 3 months ago for the first and last time it's just okay but expected better for the price and the reviews glad you enjoyed it better than me didn't notice the smell though and would only rate what I had a 6 I must have gone on a bad night.
You don’t eat curry with a knife and fork. The naan is the spoon 👍 you wouldn’t pizza or sushi with a spoon. Respect the culture and eat it properly 👍
It could also be because there's a canal near that smell or because it was a pub so all the drinks spilt over the years sinking in the ground now that smell is surfing up I went around just over 2 years it didn't smell then
It will smell during winter blackburn does smell damp all over the northwest blackburn is one place

This is why I would never have a food business. Each person has a different view on what tastes nice and you can't please everyone all of the time with everything on the menu.
I love chemistry here (well, all of your reivews!) and another honest review. You would have thought that hygiene should be high on the list to get resolved ASAP. good of you to raise this
My nose isn't the best so I don't think it would have massively bothered me (maybe a bit).
I reckon it would bother the Wife though, her nose is quite sensitive.
If the food covered the smell of the floor, I'd be all good I reckon.

Fair enough, the problem with these once upon a time local restaurants is that when they franchise out, their standards inevitably drop, and I think this was the case for you guys. I've been there too, and would say that it was decent-to-good, but no more than that.

Great review . Just needs a bit of a proper deep clean all over I wonder what hygiene rating it's got . Food did look amazing and cosy and costs cheers both

You can only score what is presented to you on the given day, others may have a slightly different experience on their day…
It's a shame it was let down due to cleanliness issues really, as that's something which shouldn't happen & also easy to rectify.
Hopefully the restaurant watches your review, & takes the necessary steps.

Mate we just watched again. Im not like Sue I like meat but that lamb no way even too chewy for me! You so right not cooked properly. Sue be gagging she hates chewy meat 😂😂

I am a bit late giving my feedback upon this stream, sorry …. One good thing about it, is that I get read all the comments already posted before I start mine.
As you rightly say, you have to report as you find upon the day. I for one, would not have stepped inside upon opening the front door to be greeted with an awful smell, as someone has already commented here, if that's what its like at the front, makes you wonder what its like in the kitchen.
If I was at this place, I would have chosen the Lamb curry from the menu without a doubt, so sat waiting, with the unpleasant smell, then to be served a chewy lamb dish, would be a very low rate score.
I was expecting you to both to be sitting on the fence, giving a 50/50 score at the end, giving it a rate of 5, was taken back when you gave it a 7.5

I've heard mixed reviews about this place, none are bad but much better desi restaurants in the Blackburn area
The vast majority of the reviews on google and Tripadvisor across the Leeds and Bradford branches are fake. Been doing it for ages. Always trying to get number one.
Hey lads get in contact with the shad chefs page and distribute your local reviews through here. They have a massive following. Most people I know are members

blackburn spend afew hours there many years ago weel enough !
The smell was probably the drains it use to be the red lion pub and it always had drainage problems and use to flood regularly
Great review, I think they must have addressed the floor issue, as for the food and service I would say a solid 9.5/10.
If the floor stinks then their hygiene is not good in the kitchens most likely.
I'd have walked out.
