Is a French white wine under £10 really worth your time — or just clever supermarket pricing?
In this episode of Wine Mastery, we put that question to the test by tasting Le Petit Plus Soif Cuvée, a refreshing French white from the **south-west of France**, close to the Spanish border and influenced by the Atlantic climate.

At just £8.29, expectations are naturally mixed. French wines often carry a reputation for higher prices, so we approach this one with an open mind and a fresh glass.

From the first pour, the wine shows a very pale colour, hinting at freshness and easy drinking — but there’s more going on beneath the surface.

On the nose, we explore pear, tropical fruit and subtle floral notes, while on the palate the wine opens up with juicy, lush flavours, touches of pineapple and melon, and a surprisingly balanced acidity.

There’s a sweetness on the finish that makes this wine approachable, yet still interesting enough to discuss in detail.

We talk honestly about:

* Whether this style of French white wine delivers real value
* How sweetness and acidity interact on the palate
* Why complexity matters — even at this price point
* How many glasses you’d realistically enjoy in one sitting

🍽️ Food & Cheese Pairings

This wine proves to be versatile at the table. We discuss pairing ideas, including:

* Grilled fish and sardines
* Light summer dishes
* Blue cheese options and creamy styles
* Why acidity makes this wine food-friendly

As always, we finish with honest scores, taking price, enjoyment, and overall quality into account — and explain why this wine narrowly misses breaking into the 80s for one of us, despite being undeniably good value.

If you enjoy discovering affordable wines with personality, learning how to describe what you’re tasting, and hearing genuine opinions (not marketing hype), this episode is for you.
