Join Sara Gore on this week’s installment of NBC’s Open House as she takes viewers on a curated journey through five stunning homes that celebrate architectural integrity, thoughtful design, and distinctive personalities.
The tour begins at 45 Walker Street, Tribeca, New York, NY, a seven-thousand-square-foot duplex loft with over two thousand square feet of terraces. Represented by Eyal Dagan this sumptuous loft emphasizes volume, natural light, and elegant yet livable design. Soaring ceilings, original cast-iron columns, and custom white oak millwork define the living spaces. A wood-burning fireplace anchors the living room, while pocket doors conceal a chef’s kitchen equipped for entertaining. Three first-floor bedrooms open to flexible spaces, including a sun-filled terrace. The primary suite features dual walk-through closets, an oversized upholstered headboard, a private terrace, and a wood-burning fireplace, blending romance and serenity with expansive city views.
Next, the episode visits Chris and Amber Earl’s North Hollywood home and studio. The Earl Home founders’ residence is a living showcase of solid wood furniture, traditional joinery, and handcrafted pieces inspired by global travel. In the open living areas, French blue velvet contrasts with brown leather sofas, while a rotating collection of dining chairs reflects their inventive approach to design. The home includes a cozy sitting room with a heritage photo wall and a workshop where Chris prototypes and builds furniture. Every space balances functionality with warmth, illustrating a seamless fusion of personal narrative and professional craft.
The tour continues to Lolita Cros’s West Village apartment, New York, NY. Cross, an art advisor and curator, designed this compact home around an art-first approach. Works by Leslie Hewitt, Tyler Mitchell, Judy Chicago, Madeline Hollander, and Lorraine O’Grady punctuate the space with color, personality, and warmth. Natural light floods the alcove she created to highlight key pieces, while her bedroom harmonizes city lights and neon signage, blending personal story with urban vibrancy. Every surface holds meaning, from a first artwork acquisition to carefully curated kitchen accents.
Viewers then step into Justin Charette’s NYC loft in Soho (located at 100 Grand Street), where original architectural details meet understated luxury. Oversized arched windows, a tin ceiling, exposed brick, and wood columns define the space. Charette incorporated custom rugs to delineate living, dining, and kitchen zones while maintaining an open flow. The loft integrates functional design with artistic expression, including a Steinway and three-dimensional art by Jacob Hashimoto. The primary suite balances bold artwork with neutral furnishings, creating a serene retreat that complements the home’s historic charm.
The final home is a vibrant, pattern-rich residence in Studio City, California that was designed by Victoria Holly of Victoria Holly Interiors. Transforming a builder-grade structure into a personalized, postmodern-meets-grand-millennial space, Holly layered color, texture, and art throughout. The kitchen features deep green cabinetry and tile-mounted artwork, while the living room anchors a vintage coffee table and jungle-inspired wallpaper. The primary bedroom embraces moody taupe walls, vintage pendant lighting, and sliding doors that open to a California patio with multiple outdoor seating areas and a fire pit, highlighting the indoor-outdoor lifestyle central to the home.
Each home in this episode invites viewers to imagine inhabiting the spaces, from sunlit terraces and cozy nooks to art-filled alcoves and sophisticated lofts. The episode demonstrates how architectural features, furniture, and art combine to create livable, thoughtful, and inspiring environments.

Fuck them, I want it to impress ME
I used to be so impressed by NYC real estate. I lived in the city for 5 years and I’ve lost all interest in the homes there. The reality and cost of living there makes it a lifestyle I no longer want to subscribe to.
Yay! Thanks for including us!!
