  1. Curry is such a forgiving meal! You can use anything to bulk it up 😁
In the past I added apples and plums to my curry, as they were about to go off and I wanted to avoid any waste 😂
As we are not veggie lovers in my house but I'm extremely aware how important they are in the diet, I usually cook the veggies first, blend them a bit and then add the protein/chickpeas/beans 😊

  2. Yes, it really is amazing how much can be made with dried peas, beans and legumes. So much more for the money than fresh, or canned. Well done!. 🎉Happy New Year to you 🎉

  3. Well I never knew what chick peas were used for. You are so creative. Thank you so much for these recipes 😊

  4. Another fantastic video. I will definitely be trying those chickpea burgers & marry me chickpeas. I have a jar to use up so this has come at a perfect time. Happy New Year to you both 🎉

  5. Great recipes Jane. I always make marry me butter beans, really delicious, but will try it with chickpeas.

  6. My husband and I are vegan and make some of these great chickpea recipes already. I’ve never heard of Marry Me Chickpeas so I’ll need to make some this weekend looks delicious! Thanks!

  7. Love chickpeas and such great recipes. Also chickpeas in the airfryer tossed in seasoning make a fun snack. All crunchy and yummy

  8. The marry me chickpeas sound delicious! Actually, I would like all of these recipes, so I have saved this video in my recipe folder. Tuffy adds his two cents in as well! Woof! ❤🐾❤️🐾❤️🐾

  9. As a vegetarian, these were all great. I'd switch up a few of the ingredients which include meat but other than that, I'm going to copy these recipes and I'll love them 💜 thank you and a Blessed New Year to you 3 🕯💜

  10. Dried and beans are so budget friendly and versatile.
My favourite curry is potato and pea.
Thank you both for sharing the video and pats to the doggies ⛄️🇦🇺🐾

  11. I use chickpeas a lot, but your Marry Me Chickpeas are different from anything I've ever tried, and I'm making them soon! My tip is that when I need sun-dried tomatoes, which can be expensive in the US, I use cherry tomatoes that I've cut in half and roasted when I'm roasting other veggies. If you adjust for the wetness, they give you that intense flavor and can save a trip to the store.

Thanks for this video, and have a Wonderful New Year!

  12. I don’t like curry or spice, can I make the burgers without spice do you think? The marry me chick peas I’ll definitely try. I need to cut back as we spent more than I wanted to at Christmas mainly on food due to lack of time and a lot of hosting family. Happy New Year to you and thanks for all the ideas

  13. I use a lot of chick peas in stews, casseroles and I make falafel burgers that are delicious and so quick to make.

  14. What a great video!!! Many people are setting that food budget and focusing on paying off debt or saving for a rainy day- you and Mike are really helping ❤❤❤

Happy New Year to my Favorite Love Birds

  15. Excellent video. Great ideas for stretching the food budget. Please keep more of these food videos coming, you are an inspiration to us all.

  16. The curry with the sweet potatoes would be a new one for me, I will definitely try that.

As a vegetarian I always have hummus on hand, I make lots and don't always eat it all, so use that as my base for burgers. It works great. Same concept just using up something that might go bad.

  17. I immediately stopped the video and put some chickpeas to soak 😂 tomorrow morning I'll put them in a thermos to thermal cook while i drive and I'll be making the marry me chickpeas tomorrow night at my next campsite. Should I soak my sun dried tomatoes in oil overnight? I have a bag of no oil ones in my fridge…i wont buy them again, i much prefer the ones in seasoned oil.

  18. On your recommendation we will probably try marry me curry first. At least our version 😊 with what we have to use up 😅

  19. Farm Foods currently have 1kg bags of dry chickpeas for 99p if anyone is looking, this is the cheapest I've found. We are plant based so I buy pinto and black beans in bulk and cook a batch every week. Much cheaper than supermarket dry beans.

  20. Both curries look great! I'm allergic to dried tomatoes, so I'll have to skip it. The beanie burgers are my favorite recipe of the day! Thanks Jane, Mike and dogs!

  21. Wonderful chickpea recipes! Thank you for sharing and hugs to the sweet Mary Poppins. Best wishes for this New Year 2026

  22. Hi! As a frugal vegetarian, I love all legumes, especially chickpeas. Your four recipes look amazing! But as you always say, "Everything is better with cheese!!" Thank you for sharing so much so generously! ❤️ From Argentina 🇦🇷
