  1. I'm surprised more buffets, not only in France but in many countries, don't offer more creatively-prepared dishes to justify the price. The baked goods are excellent but the typical eggs, bacon, pancakes, waffles, fruit, yogurt, salad, etc…isn't a worthwhile value for the money. As a professional chef, I realize they need to prepare large quantities for a buffet and it's quite different from a menu service where they're preparing individual dishes made to order. But if I'm asking customers to spend that much, I would want to deliver a unique, above-average meal. Otherwise, it is just quantity over quality.

  2. We go to Bella Bay at GL, at least 2-3x a month for lunch. It's lovely for lunch, off the menu. We have never gone for their Sunday brunch. We wondered about it. You saved us a trip. We were not impressed based on your video. We had a wonderful brunch on Easter Day at a restaurant called "SEEN, by Olivier", a rooftop restaurant at the Antara Hotel which is over by the Louis Vuitton store, Chanel etc. (On the street of high end designer stores across Place Massena from Galeries Lafayette) It was expensive but worth the splurge for a special occasion. I'm sure Tony will be happier. They had multiple carving stations, with ham, turkey, lamb, ice carvings, displays with shellfish, oysters, smoked salmon, caviar, multiple hot fishes, lots of sides, cheese displays, magnificent desserts, etc. I don't know if they do that sunday "brunch" buffet, like they had on Easter, every weekend. Gorgeous view too. SEEN itself is open everyday for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails (or mocktails) and appetizers. In fact we stopped there, last night, after dinner elsewhere, just for dessert in their lounge. They have a nice list of mocktails too. Happy traveling! ✈️

  3. KJ I love your sweater in the beginning of the video. 😀 Blessings to you and Tony🙌🙏much love and thank you for another great video. The Buffet looked delicious ☺️.

  4. Just to help you with your French, do not pronounce the S at the end of galleries . It’s a silent S. 😊

  5. Bonjour! We recommend La Colombe D’or in St Paul de Vence. A renowned restaurant with the original artwork on the walls, by Picasso, Léger and others.

St Paul, makes an absolute amazing day trip. Enjoy!!

  6. When we were on a scouting trip this past summer our friends who live in Nice took us to Marinette down a narrow little street (16 rue Colonna d'Istria) just around from the Cathedrale Saine-Reparate for Sunday breakfast. I can't recall if they had a brunch menu but we ordered our breakfast items a la carte. We were really pleased with our food, the ambience was casual and relaxed, and if you can get a seat on the upper level it has a glass ceiling that lets the light just pour in. The raspberry lemonade is a must-have (you can order by the carafe!).I believe they may have outdoor seating as well, but am not positive. They have tasty baked goods to take away as well and on the way out the door I snagged a beautifully frosted I Love Nice cookie which you can see me devouring in my profile photo. Once we're on the ground in Nice permanently I imagine this might become a regular breakfast spot.

  7. French people don’t eat really big American style breakfasts. That more or less looked like it was for tourists, to me. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  8. French don't eat "buffets", what do you expect?
You went for an American experience in our beautiful country of France and that is what you got.
Right down to the American performer. lol

  9. Please note that the "s" at the end of plural words in French is not pronounced unless it is linked to a vowel at the beginning of the following word

So it is not GalérieS Lafayette but Galérie(s) pronounced without the "s"

  10. When traveling, breakfast is not on the top of the list. However, the best breakfast in the world (at least 6 continents) was at The Blarney Woolen Mills Hotel…hands down. My travel bud and I were staying there so had it in the room, but they serve the public in their main restaurant. Lovely.

  11. French high end buffets. Lot's of glitz but where's the beef.

Lot's to learn about the real France before making the move.
