I lived in France many years ago. I had friends who used to take me to the most wonderful restaurants in the French countryside. The single most funny thing I remember of those days is the French referring to Coca Cola as the "Champagne du Texas".
French foodp0rn FTW! <3
Edit: Noticed that whoever made this video probably used an AI voiceover.
What culinary school did you attend? My daughter goes to Johnson and Wales.
The cookies in the video are called macarons(pronounced like the narrator did). Macaroons (pronounced like you did) are a small coconut cookie.
It's a common misunderstanding.
you go girl! scold that AI on the proper pronunciation of the word macaron!
No one in europe says macaroooooons. It just macarons.
I have to wonder if that used AI for the narration, they messed up some really easy French pronunciations.
Halo to all the foodies out there, time to make something. Laksa…. Hmmm.
French people are crazy.
In the resent French Olympics they paid men to beat up women in the boxing ring. I doubt no other country would call that sport or entertainment. SMH.
You should react to Robin Williams' stand up monologue – the human body was designed by committee.
I have the biggest crush on you
To be honest, escargots is "french cuisine" but almost nobody ever eats it, it's always for rare occasions, in really fancy restaurants or in tourists traps (free my friends the snails ;-; )
One of the reason french cuisine is so highly regarded is because all the basics "ingredients" are great in France, bread, pastries, cheese, fruits, wine, …
9:00 the "pancake" is more like a "crepe" than a pancake (even if both are similar in the first place) and a crepe is kinda made out of eggs x)
many things missing (like fondue, raclette, …) but it's only a top 10 so it's fair x)
as for the pronunciations, it's macarron not "-roon" ; croissants isn't pronounced with the t and s (exactly how you did for escargots) ; crepes, the end if the word is pronounced like "step" ; Paris-Brest is again without the s at the end of Paris ; and you pronounced soufflé perfectly <3
A macaron is a meringue-based sandwich cookie that is tinted with food coloring. A macaroon is a drop cookie made with shredded coconut.
yum ty for the hunger. lol
The creative opening with the mustache loved it dear sister!!! Great to see another reaction involving food esp knowing how much you love food, it’s something you love talking about which adds so much happiness to these videos, something that is such a key factor as you know to successful creators which you always have been.
Katie so wants to go to Paris one day and this food all gives reasons to go there for sure lol. If we go, all three of us are sooo going and def we can use this video as reference for finding all these great food items. lol since we are going to Ireland next year maybe a reaction video to Irish food!! Also I’ll always remember my first visit to Texas and at the mall when we had the macaroons and the guy asking about my accent lol
Fantastic job as always dear sister love seeing all the creative ideas. You have and always will be a pro creator and YouTuber dear sister!
5:17 says the girl who butchers the German name of her own choosing at the beginning of each video.😉
im french and i find macarons overvalued . Even if they were cheap i dont think id buy much.
MACARON ! you're wrong !
If we are really talking about classic French cuisine I would rather mention beef bourguignon, veal blanquette, cassoulet, coq au vin, chicken Basquaise, duck confit, gratin dauphinois, sauerkraut, and so many others dishes that make your mouth water just by thinking about them
You are completely right about that “pancake “ which is actually a crêpe or like the bretons would say, a galette usually made of buckwheat flour for a salty version.
The crêpes are made of classic white flour and are usually lighter and more for sweet garnishes like jam, cacao spreads or simply powdered sugar.
The last dish of the video, “bouillabaisse “ is THE traditional dish of Marseille in the south of France. Like many former “poor people food” it’s become quite expensive the past decades because of the shortage of wild fishery products. It was originally made of bony rockfish, unable to be sold to restaurants like rascasse, sea robin or conger. It can also include some other sea products like mussels or crab.
The Paris-Brest has been created in 1910 by the pastry chef Louis Durand to raise the popularity of the cycles race Paris-Brest-Paris. It’s why it’s shaped like a wheel. It’s a simple chou cooked dough stuffed with a light praline tasting cream. Despite its appearance it’s not heavy to eat.
Try belgian cuisine,my wife used to live in Paris, the 16th,ate in many fancy restaurants out there, now we live in Flanders and she says we have surpassed the french
