I’ve been flipping burgers on the same Brooklyn corner for over 60 years. No timers, no machines — just a hot griddle, fresh beef, and hands that know when it’s ready by sound, not stopwatch .
Every 4th of July, folks would line up down the block — firecrackers in the street, jazz from the neighbor’s radio, kids waving little flags and licking ketchup off their fingers. That burger wasn’t just food… it was community. It was ours .
