Cognac is a French brandy crafted from distilled white wine and matured in oak barrels. Hailing from the Cognac region in southwestern France, it is celebrated for its smooth texture, rich flavours, and complex aromas.
The Cognac casks play an essential role in shaping the character of the whisky. The oak enhances the interaction between the whisky and the Cognac infused staves, resulting in a delicate and floral flavour profile.
On the nose there’s macerated orange peel, ripe banana, and vanilla. On the palate, candied lemons, icing sugar, raisins, chocolate, and dried pineapple, followed by a lingering ginger spice on the finish.
