Hey travellers, do you have any story to share when transiting through Paris? CDG is one of the major hub for intercontinental flights. Here are The Pros and Cons
The Pros:
1. Huge international hub—tons of flight options and connections.
2. Great food and shopping if you have time to kill—think gourmet French pastries and luxury boutiques.
3. Decent transfer services and amenities, like baggage storage and child seats if you need them.
The Cons:
1. The airport layout is mega confusing—lots of terminals, long walks, and sometimes you need to take shuttles or buses between gates.
2. Security and passport lines can be painfully slow, especially at peak times.
3. Signage isn’t always clear, and staff can be hit or miss in terms of helpfulness.
Here are some alternative European Airports for easy transits:
• Helsinki: Super efficient—all gates are in one terminal, and you can connect in as little as 35 minutes. The airport is modern, staff are friendly, and signage is clear.
• Amsterdam Schiphol: Way easier to navigate than CDG, with short walks between gates, helpful staff, and quick passport control.
• Frankfurt, Madrid, Istanbul and London Heathrow are also solid options for connections. However, personally I would avoid Heathrow as much as possible when flying between Asia and Europe.
So, would you risk another CDG layover, or are you ready to try somewhere like Helsinki or Istanbul for your next trip?
