Recipe: A rich, citrusy, and indulgent take on classic French toast—featuring melted chocolate, zesty orange, and a hint of warmth from cinnamon & vanilla! Perfect for brunch, holidays, or a sweet breakfast treat.

Ingredients
For the French Toast:
4 slices brioche, challah, or thick-cut bread (slightly stale for best texture)
2 large eggs
¾ cup whole milk or heavy cream
1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
1 teaspoon orange juice (freshly squeezed)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon sugar (or honey)
2 tablespoons butter (for frying)
½ cup semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate)
For the Orange Chocolate Sauce (Optional but Recommended!):
½ cup dark chocolate (chopped) or chocolate chips
¼ cup heavy cream
1 tablespoon orange zest
1 tablespoon Grand Marnier (or more orange juice for alcohol-free version)

Toppings:
Powdered sugar
Orange slices or candied orange peel
Whipped cream or mascarpone
Maple syrup or extra chocolate drizzle

Instructions
Make the French Toast Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, orange zest, orange juice, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and sugar.
Dip each slice of bread into the mixture, letting it soak for 15-30 seconds per side.
Cook the French Toast
Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
Cook each slice for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
Sprinkle chocolate chips onto one side right before flipping, so they melt slightly into the toast.
Make the Orange Chocolate Sauce (Optional but Amazing!)
In a small saucepan, heat heavy cream until warm (but not boiling).
Remove from heat and stir in chocolate, orange zest, and Grand Marnier (or orange juice) until smooth.

Assemble & Serve
Stack the French toast slices and drizzle with chocolate sauce.
Garnish with powdered sugar, orange slices, and whipped cream.
Serve warm with a side of maple syrup or extra melted chocolate.
