After waiting an hour for our food, we asked the waitress what was going on. She said, ‘our kitchen is really busy, you can leave if you’d like’. What an unexpected answer!
When did Cracker Barrel decline in quality? Or is it just our experience? My parents remember this restaurant having awesome food, good serivce and unique items for sale out front. On our first meal: We felt the food was okay– not bad or great, and the items in the store out front were kinda lame. On our second meal: We ended up leaving without food. What a disaster.
Anyway, the best thing about Cracker Barrel is: the free, overnight RV parking. This is reason enough for us to keep coming back!

Cracker Barrel hit the wall about a decade ago. Been downhill ever since. Last time I was there was like 5 years ago and it sucked then.

As someone of Asian descent like your wife, I'm not quite sure if I should be amused or offended by the "great" waitress who felt like she had to point out to her what a sunny side up egg looks like. Did she assume just by looking at her "ethnic" look that she doesn't really know what she's ordering? Would she have done that if your wife was white? Just asking.
Tennessee native here. Where Cracker Barrel was born. It is certainly not America’s favorite restaurant but the Old Timers breakfast is my favorite breakfast anywhere.
