Crispy Onion Steak Sandwich Recipe! Featuring juicy steak, crispy fried onions, spicy mayo, and fresh chimichurri, this is the perfect gourmet sandwich to try at home.

Ingredients :

For Spicy Mayo:

1 egg
Salt, pepper, and red chili (to taste)
1 tbsp harissa or hrouss
180ml sunflower oil

For Chimichurri Sauce:

½ red onion, finely chopped
½ green pepper, finely chopped
1 red pepper, finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp chopped parsley
2 tbsp chopped coriander
2 tbsp cider vinegar
3–4 tbsp olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste

For Steak and Baguette:

2–4 steak fillets (seasoned with salt, pepper, olive oil, butter, and garlic cloves)
1 fresh French baguette
2 tbsp softened butter
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp dried parsley

For Crispy Onions:

1 large onion, thinly sliced
½ cup flour
Neutral oil for frying

Instructions :

Prepare Spicy Mayo:

In a mixing bowl, whisk the egg, harissa, and a pinch of salt, pepper, and red chili. Gradually add sunflower oil while whisking until creamy. Set aside.

Make Chimichurri Sauce:

Combine chopped onion, peppers, garlic, parsley, and coriander in a bowl. Add cider vinegar, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

Cook the Steak:

Heat olive oil in a skillet. Sear steak fillets for 3–4 minutes per side. Add butter and garlic cloves to the pan and baste the steak while cooking. Remove and let rest.

Prepare Crispy Onions:

Dredge sliced onions in flour and fry in hot oil until golden and crispy. Drain on a paper towel.

Toast the Baguette:

Spread butter on the cut sides of the baguette. Sprinkle with paprika and parsley. Toast until golden.

Assemble the Sandwich:

Layer the steak slices, crispy onions, spicy mayo, and chimichurri sauce onto the toasted baguette. Serve warm and enjoy!
