In this video, Steve and Fran dive deep into a side-by-side comparison of Viking vs Sub-Zero & Wolf appliances, sharing insights that help viewers understand the strengths and limitations of each brand across different categories.

They start with pro ranges, discussing how Viking was the first to introduce a pro range but has since faced competition from Wolf’s continuous innovation. Key points include Wolf’s advanced dual fuel technology, built-in Gourmet cooking options, and versatile simmering on every burner, while Viking impresses with color options and an easy-to-clean chromium griddle.

For wall ovens, they examine Wolf’s integration of Gourmet technology and their flexible design choices, compared to Viking’s unique French door option, which offers practicality in tight spaces but lacks advanced tech features.

In refrigeration, Sub-Zero stands out with its dual climate system, vacuum-sealed doors, and a wide variety of configurations and sizes, giving them an edge over Viking’s refrigeration options.

  1. I think sub zero is king in refrigeration. Gas ranges I think they are neck and neck. Viking offers open burners and the grates are smaller and easier to clean. The wolf duel stacked burners are a gimmick, i rarely use the low simmer feature on my wolf, the normal low is low enough.

  2. My decision right now would be Sub-Zero/Wolf/Cove. Should the Viking president succeed in revamping the company, then my decision 5 years from now might be very different.
