  1. This book was my grammy's favorite to read to me as a kid. She passed last week. She thought Eloise was the coolest person ever. I'm making a portrait of her in the style for her funeral. Thank you so much for uploading this when you did. I think I needed it. <3

  2. I've been permabanned from r/TipOfMyTongue so I never got to ask about that movie that stars the bratty little rich girl that lives in the penthouse with her dog was. Once you got to book 1, I instantly knew what it was so thanks!

  3. My favorite character! I loved the movie as a kid! She was so free….i wanted to be like that she was the OG rich girl fantasy

  4. this is one of my fav videos you’ve done because the story of her creation/ creators was SO intriguing to me, sarah u have done it again 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

  5. I don't think I'm gonna get around to watching this video on the day of upload, but I just wanted to share this anecdote really quick:
Eloise is the reason I love Dark Mode.
No, I'm not kidding! I remember on one page, the room was dark for some reason (power outage? pillow fort??) and the text on the dark background… was white. Suddenly I couldn't stop thinking about why no book publishers printed versions of their books in this inversed style.
It's just a small thing, but when I saw this video of Eloise pop up on my feed, I remembered that.

  6. my dad has worked in the Plaza since I was a kid so i was obsessed with Eloise for the longest time… he would bring back any available eloise memorabilia and once he brought one of those little illustrated plates home that they used in the eloise cafe 😭 i used it foreverrr

  7. Eloise wouldn't have been the only outspoken little girl protagonist at the time, the first Pippi Longstocking book came out a decade earlier. Though Eloise would've had a much bigger initial impact in the US than Pippi did

  8. I don't have a lot of connection to this series but I remember vaguely watching Eloise at Christmastime as a kid, and apparently it introduced a lot of people to Gavin Creel! I was devastated to find out about his death, it was so out of nowhere.

  9. I was just thinking about eloise at christmastime because of the line “It’s christmas eve eve!” And the. this video popped up on my feed last night lol

  10. I would love to see you do a video on fancy Nancy you keep talking about things from my childhood no one else has ever mentioned

  11. you always have the best deep dives! even when i'm not familiar with the topic you're exploring, such as Eloise, you give the perfect amount of context that i never feel lost and can really enjoy watching

  12. I also watched Eloise on Disney Channel. Never heard of it or knew it was based on a book during that time. I figured it was something like Madeline, or Matilda. I don’t even remember the movie very well, but I remember “Eloise at Christmastime” existing. My friend even has a dog named Eloise, and I always call her Eloise at Christmastime (because I forgot Eloise lived at the Plaza).

I love these girly deep dive videos from you! It fills a niche I don’t think anyone else online even dabbles in, for any topic you cover. Your American Girl Doll video is still one of my favorites (along with Ashley Norton’s) and I love your Angelina Ballerina and Tinker Bell videos. I hope your holidays are safe and enjoyable!

  13. This video was such a treat! Got to listen to it in the drive home from a long day of work and the time flew. Thanks for always making fantastic videos

  14. The two Eloise movies are also directed by Kevin Lima, best known for Enchanted, A Goofy Movie, and Disney's Tarzan.
Didn't realize Kay Thompson was a bit of a prima donna.

  15. I got Eloise at Christmastime for Christmas as a little girl, and I LOVED it. I was so taken with Eloise, and I saw a lot of myself in her. The movies came out when I was in 2nd or 3rd grade, and I watched the Christmas one every year at Christmas until I was in my late teens.

Eloise and Madeline were two of my favorite children’s books girls in my childhood, even if Madeline did give me a deep fear of appendicitis.

  16. All of your deep dives into nostalgic childhood media and characters have been so healing for me. Diving back into these worlds has been so fun I hope you do many more.

  17. 1:02:51 Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't that 1959 broadway musical actually named after Gypsy Rose Lee ? Since it was loosely based on her autobiography which she called "Gypsy : A Memoir" ?
Don't get me wrong, I know it is considered a slur for many members of the Romani but in the context here, Gypsy is a name.

  18. i love your videos !! i just finished the charlie and lola one and was going to watch the angelina ballerina one next, when i saw this in my recommended. these videos are so so interesting, i love hearing all the backstories and intricate details about my childhood shows. i love your presentation too (i laughed at the ur fave line is my fave line), i hope you make many many more deep dives <3

  19. nice, first time seeing your content. got a bright future on YouTube if videos are consistently this good and researched. I liked the slightly deadpan delivery.

  20. Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). What's the best way to send them to Binance?
