  1. Ben's Chili Bowl opened just before I was born, around 3 months. Five Guys opened in Virginia, not DC. I ate at the very first one.

  4. My favorite Martin’s Tavern story is that then senator JFK proposed to Jackie in one of the booths, and it’s commemorated with a plaque!

  5. Fun fact for the 1930s something being a $1 is the same as $31.87 in today's dollars.
