Thanks very much for sharing this information. Very useful information 👌 👍 👏
Fun retrospect. I don't think people's palates have changed as much as our budgets though. If my family could afford those expensive treats, we would still serve them. This is what happens when you convert from secured currency to fiat currency… We used to have a ham, a duck, AND a turkey at Christmastime. Anyway, in FL, instead of smoked eel, we served smoke mullet. And Tupperware had the best gelatin molds. I will miss them – they declared bankruptcy like so many other classic American businesses. Merry Christmas!
My family never served any of these foods. We had much simpler food, ham, mashed potatoes, and green beans. Dessert was pumpkin pie.
Well I for one, am glad about the decline of the gellitain moulds and the seafood themed appetisers.
Don't miss any of that grossness!!! 🤢
not at my house we were poor.
Celery with peanut butter and areasol cheese on Thanksgiving and Christmas was a treat
Dried beef, spread with cream cheese, wrapped around pickles
Lightly bettered lefsa sprinked with sugar and rolled up
I will say wow
Other than the mushrooms, this was not my favorite.
Oh come on, with a few expections those dishes today often not necessarily stand for “good” food or “complex” flavours (let alone nice presentation). I love the nostalgic part of it and like cooking some dishes from the past from time to time, but this narration is so terrible.
Version 1.0 again.
