Hey there Jive Turkeys! We made the most Ridiculous Hot Dog with Thanksgiving leftovers. Using homemade cranberry sauce, turning it into a delicious cranberry dijon mustard, Stove Top encrusted Kings Hawaiian rolls, mashed potato pancake, topped with crispy french fried onions, with a sport pepper for garnish.

RECIPE:

CRANBERRY DIJON MUSTARD
1cup water
¼ cup freshly squeezed orange juice
2 tablespoons orange zest
1 cup sugar, or more, to taste
1 (12-ounce) bag fresh cranberries
1/4 Cup Dijon Mustard
3 Tblsp Brown Sugar
Equipment
Saucepan
Microplane
Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine water, orange juice, orange zest and sugar over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Stir in cranberries and bring to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer until sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes.
Let cool completely. Once Cooled Blend cranberry sauce and dijon together, then mix in brown sugar

HOT DOG WATER:

Bring 4 quarts of water to a boil. Add in a 2 Teaspoons of Thyme, Sage, Sprig of Rosemary, and two Bay Leaves. Reduce to a simmer and put in Hot Dogs.

BUN:
Take 3 Hawaiian Sweet rolls being careful not to break them apart.
Beat 1 Egg and mix in 3 tablespoons of water
Take Stove Top Stuffing Mix, place into a freezer bag and smash with a mallet until it is small crumbs and powder.
Brush egg wash on to rolls and sprinkle stuffing dust/crumb onto the roll coating all sides
Place in a 350 degree oven for 8-10 minutes

MASHED POTATOES:
Take leftover mashed potato and place in the freezer for 10 min.
Shape mashed potato into an oblong pancake about a 1/4″ think
Give a good glug of neutral oil on a ripping hot griddle
Fry potato pancake until crispy on both sides

BUILD THAT DOG!
Using a serated bread knife carefully spilt the Hawaiian Roll about 3/4 of the way through.
Place in your aromatic simmered Hot Dog of choice
Top with mashed potato pancake and a few of your cranberries from the sauce you made
Top that with crispy french fried onions
Do the Driz!!!! Zig Zag drizzle the cranberry dijon mustard
Garnish with a sport pepper (all I had) or even better a green bean.
